I hold a B.A. in Pastoral Leadership. I had the academic training, the theological vocabulary, and the framework to describe freedom with precision. Yet academic preparation did not set me free from oppression. Only an encounter with the true anointing did. That paradox matters. It is what makes me a founder of tested authority for those called to lead and create in the performing arts.
For years, knowledge could name the landscape, but it could not break the yoke. Head knowledge explained deliverance; the presence of God brought it. In the quiet corners of real life, true freedom was not found in the classroom, but in the fire of personal transformation.
We often mistake information for formation. We assume that if we study enough, we will become whole enough. But the Kingdom of Heaven is not built on concepts alone; it is built on encounters. It is built on the moments when human striving gives way to holy surrender, and the "shoulds" of religion are burned away by the reality of His presence.

In my years of spiritual refinement, I discovered that God’s greatest treasures are often hidden in our deepest irritations. Consider the pearl. It does not begin as a gem; it begins as a grain of sand: an unwanted intruder that causes discomfort and pain. The oyster does not reject the irritation; it covers it. Layer by layer, year after year, it wraps the pain in its own substance until something breathtaking is formed.
This is the essence of Identity.
Many of us are living in a "wilderness" season, feeling buried by hardship or transition. We ask, "Why is this happening?" while God is asking, "Will you let Me form you?" During my own wilderness years, I had to realize that nothing is impossible with God. My degree could not save me from the darkness, but my identity in Christ could lead me through it.

If formation is about identity, character is about the "fire." We often speak of finding God in the spectacular—the "earthquakes" of the Spirit that shake our foundations. And He is there. I have encountered Him in those powerful, life-altering moments that left me forever changed. But I have also found Him in the small whispers of the mundane—on the pages of a tear-stained journal or in the quiet rhythm of the laundry room.
It is important to understand that the anointing does not simply appear out of thin air or at our own whim. In my journey, it was often poured out through pure vessels of God—men and women whom He used to minister to me and establish the freedom I walk in today. These were my Encounters with God.
Tested authority is not gained in the spotlight alone; it is forged in the secret place and refined through the ministry of others. As a trained Freedom Minister, I have seen that breakthrough rarely happens without a prior encounter with the Truth. You cannot lead people where you have not been willing to go yourself. My character was not built by the B.A. on my wall; it was built by the "Yes" I whispered in the quiet and the anointing I received from those who walked before me.

In our modern world, we are terrified of the void. We fill our atmospheres with content, music, and constant "doing" to avoid the weight of the quiet. But maturity requires us to trust in the dark. It requires us to believe that even when God is silent, He is still speaking. He is speaking through the peace that surpasses understanding. He is speaking through the discipline of the craft.
As a Production Creator and visionary, I have learned that the most powerful stories are often told in the pauses of a script or the stillness before a dance. The most transformative art—the kind that shifts atmospheres in a theater or on a screen—is birthed when the artist is willing to sit in the silence until the Spirit of God breathes life into the movement and the word.

In acting and in dance, we do not perform to get God's attention; we create because we already have His heart. Maturity is the ability to pour out your soul on stage even when you don't feel the "rush." It is the disciplined heart of the performer who knows that the light of Christ that bears truth, beauty, and hope will always find its way through the cracks of a willing vessel.
