The Intensity Manifesto: Moving with Quick Obedience

Have you ever felt a stirring deep in your spirit, a whisper that calls you to step into a new season, yet found yourself paralyzed by the weight of the "how"? Many of us have been taught that walking in our Kingdom purpose requires a slow, meditative waiting period: a season of gathering every minute detail before we dare to move. We pray for blueprints when God is simply asking for our "yes."
In the economy of Heaven, there is a frequency that often goes unnamed in our gentle, modern circles: Intensity.
I want to invite you to shift your perspective. Intensity is not stress. It is not the frantic, cortisol-driven hustle of the world. Rather, intensity is concentrated, purposeful action. It is the rhythmic beating of a heart aligned with a God mandate. It is the refusal to allow the sacred fire within to be extinguished by the dampness of delay. When we talk about finding your calling in God, we are often talking about the moment where your desire to obey outruns your need to understand.
Spiritual Growth Is Awakened through Action

For many Christian women creatives, the greatest barrier to spiritual growth isn't a lack of desire; it’s the myth of the "Perfect Detail." We have been conditioned to believe that if God hasn't provided a 10-step manual, then we must continue to sit, pray, and wait. While seeking the Lord’s heart is foundational, there are seasons where waiting becomes a form of sophisticated disobedience.
In the charismatic culture, we often emphasize "waiting for a word." But what happens when the Word has already been spoken? What happens when the mandate is clear, but the logistics are fuzzy?
This is where we must choose quick obedience. In the book of Proverbs, we see wisdom that seems to contradict itself: one verse tells us not to answer a fool, and the next tells us we should. This isn't a contradiction; it is an invitation to discernment. There are seasons to be still, and there are seasons to move with an intensity that shifts atmospheres. When a God mandate is placed upon your life, the "traditional" response of endless meditation can actually keep you outside of His perfect will.
Creativity Is Celebrated in the Midst of Chaos

Let me share a piece of my own journey. When the Lord called me to launch The Language of Pearls Podcast, the timing was, by all human standards, impossible. I had just given birth to my baby girl. My home was full with a teenager and a preteen. My husband was in the grueling stages of launching his own business and was completely overwhelmed.
I had zero skills in podcasting. I didn't know how to use the microphones, I didn't understand the software, and I certainly didn't feel like a "podcaster." But I had something more powerful than a skill set: I had the fear of the Lord.
I received the best advice of my life: "Just get started."
I didn't wait until the baby slept through the night. I didn't wait until I had a professional studio. I moved with intensity. I started small: audio only: researching microphones on a shoestring budget for the Language of Pearls podcast. I sat for 15 minutes and jotted down 50 topics I felt the Holy Spirit burning into my heart. I chose to ignite the gift within me despite the exhaustion.
Since that day, I haven't slowed down. I often work 12 to 14 hours a day on God-assignments, building the "house" of this ministry while simultaneously homeschooling my children and tending to my home. This isn't because I'm a "superwoman." It's because when you move in quick obedience, the Holy Spirit provides a supernatural stamina. He breathes beauty into the brokenness of our schedules and sustains us with His still, small voice.
Identifying Your God Mandate
Every purpose-driven visionary must eventually face a threshold moment. This is the moment where you stop asking "What if?" and start asking "What now?"
To move with intensity, you must first identify your God mandate. A mandate is more than a good idea; it is a spiritual assignment that carries a weight of urgency. It is the thing you cannot not do.
Nothing is impossible with God, but God often waits for the movement of our feet before He parts the waters of our circumstances.
> “Conceived by genius, achieved by dauntless resolution and unconquerable faith.”

When you are moved by a mandate, your life begins to restructure itself around that word. At DG Inspired Studios, we believe that your creative work is a sacred mission. Whether you are writing a book, building a business, or raising a family, if it is done in obedience to Him, it is a Kingdom assignment.
Ask yourself these questions today:
- What is the "one thing" God has whispered to me that I have been "praying about" for too long?
- Am I waiting for more details, or am I waiting for more courage?
- What would it look like to move with quick obedience this week?
Eliminating the Time Robbers
Intensity requires focus. You cannot move with concentrated action if your energy is being siphoned off by "time robbers." In my own life, I’ve had to become ruthless with distractions. I don’t have time for the endless scroll of social media or the noise of comparison. My toggle is either "on" for my children or "on" for my work. When I am with my toddler, I am intensely present. When I am at my computer, I am intensely focused.
We must identify the potential events, people, or habits that pull us away from what God has called us to do. We are part of a community of ambitious Christian women: like my faith partners at The Alliance: who understand that our time is a seed we sow into eternity.
Truth, beauty, and hope are not just abstract concepts; they are the fruits of a life lived with intentionality. If you feel like you are falling behind, remember this: You are not behind; you are being prepared. But preparation is not a passive state. It is an active, intense leaning into the heart of the Father.
A Benediction for the Weary Visionary
May you find the courage to stop waiting for the perfect details and start moving with the perfect God. I pray that the Holy Spirit would awaken a fresh intensity in your soul: a divine fire that consumes fear and ignites a bold, quick obedience.
May you recognize the "time robbers" for what they are and cast them aside to make room for your Kingdom assignment. As you step across this threshold, may you feel the wind of His Spirit at your back, providing the strength, the skill, and the strategy you need for the journey ahead.
Begin where you feel drawn. Step into the space He has prepared for you. The world is waiting for the story only you can tell.
